I was thinking about the greatness of our Lord and how much he does for me. One of the quandaries in an adult faith formation program is helping people grow with Christ. I am always looking for new ways to bring Him to our community and especially to those who don't quite understand what the fuss is all about.
One encounter with the Lord and there is no turning back. One small moment with him delivers a lifetime of devotion. The most significant way we deliver His message is through communication. We communicate through words, actions, and writing.
In building Our Lady of the Rosary adult faith formation programs, I try to look at all the different avenues we can reach others and in turn for others to extend their reach even further.
Then one word came to me: "WITH".
Through the sacraments He is "WITH" me, in prayer, He is "WITH" me. In times of great joy, He is "WITH" me. In times of profound sorrow, He is "WITH" me. When I wake, go to sleep, work, drive, walk my dog, push the elevator button He is "WITH" me. He is always with me.
I searched online for the phrase 'I am with you' in the Bible; the first item in my search:
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20
There is it; He is WITH us. We are never alone; we simply need to fix our eyes, hearts, and mind upon Him.
Grace be to God.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
