Intentions: Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Protection of the USA, Families, and the Unborn

Opening Prayers:

Apostles Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Joyful Mysteries:

1st Mystery - the Annunciation Meditation:

At the Annunciation, the Angel Gabriel announced to a newlywed, Blessed Virgin Mary that She was to become the mother of the Word Incarnate.

From the line of David, Joseph was living in humble obscurity as a carpenter when God raised him to the highest sanctity and chose him to be the spouse of the Virgin Mary; to be the foster father and guardian to Jesus.  When he learned that Mary was with child, he feared to take her as his wife, but an angel told him not to fear as the child was the Holy Son of God.  So, with Courage and Faith, Joseph took upon himself the responsibility of being a father to the son of God.

With the occasional Biblical reference, it is easy to overlook Joseph’s relevance.  Yet his integrity as a man made him the ideal spouse for Mary, which made it acceptable for Her to give birth to the child Jesus. His presence afforded Protection to both Mary and Jesus.  His Labor enabled their humble material needs for their living.  And his Courage and Fortitude were always at hand to guide the Holy family.

In our prayers, we ask all men to take responsibility for what they face in life. To seek the virtues personified by Joseph that will enable them to lead their families in the faith.  To love and protect their wives and instill the Holy Doctrine in their children, by being living examples of it.

2nd Mystery - the Visitation:

Mary visits Elizabeth in the Judean hills.

Luke (1:6) tells us that Elizabeth and her husband Zachariah 'were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord'

They were elderly and had suffered the indignity of being childless until one day, the Angel Gabriel foretold Zachariah that he would have a son.

Even as a righteous man, Zechariah doubted the word of God when told of this message.  Our tendency as men is to equate our own understanding of events rather than relying on God to guide us. The mystery of God's way must be embraced with trust and humility. The works that He often reveals through us should be addressed in silent contemplation.

Zechariah's life exemplified Faith, Hope, and the Joy of living 'righteously in the sight of God'.  In Faith, he Persevered in asking Our Lord for the miracle of childbirth to his barren, aging wife.

His Hope remained steadfast, and he was rewarded with the Joy of his answered prayers.

Let us live our lives in Faith, with Trust in God, and with Perseverance so that we too may live 'righteously in the sight of God'.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

3rd Mystery - the Nativity:

At the Nativity, Joseph found that all doors were closed to him. He could not secure a room for Mary to birth forth the son of God.

But he persevered, adapted to circumstances thrust upon him, and brought her to a cave where the redeemer of the world was born onto us.  This mystery is all about Humility.  If God can be so humble as to permit His divine son to be born in a cave among animals, how humble should we permit ourselves to be for Him?

Why does the world view humility as a weakness when God exemplifies it?

Humility isn't a weakness, it’s a Virtue, and it’s a Sacred Strength.

In this crisis, Joseph created a space for Mary to give birth.  He protected her and provided for her in that environment.

In this life, we will often find ourselves in crisis situations;

a world that is in moral decline, a country where the slaughter of the innocent is a legal right.  As men, we are called to Protect our families from the immoralities of this world, and to Protect the innocent that are being aborted in our own city.  These children, are God's children, whose doors to life are being closed to them.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

4th Mystery - the Presentation:

Joseph’s first public duty, with Mary and Jesus, following her confinement was to Present the Child Jesus to God in the Temple, as was the custom according to the law of Moses.

Simeon, like Zachariah, was an elderly priest in the Temple who lived righteously and longed to see the promised Messiah. The Gospel of Luke (2:25) tells us that - 'It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah'.

He took Jesus in his arms, and in a single glimpse of the six weeks old baby, he recognized the Omnipotent, all-powerful God.   How often we have the same opportunity to gaze upon Jesus in the Eucharist during Adoration.  A chance to recognize Him, body, blood, soul, and divinity.  Jesus' presentation to the Father was, in many ways, the world's first Adoration in a Temple of God.

In seeing Jesus, Simeon exclaimed: Lord, now let Thy servant depart in peace, for my eyes have seen Thy salvation.   Jesus is our salvation.  If we present ourselves in our Churches for Adoration, He will recognize us.

We, men of San Diego, pray this Rosary for Reparation of Mary’s Heart, for Conversion of Country, for Families, and for the Unborn.  In Adoration, Jesus will impart to us the Wisdom and the Virtues necessary to enable us to enact our prayers.

Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

5th Mystery - the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple:

And after three days of searching, they found him in the temple.

The search, of every human heart - is the search for God.

Mary and Joseph’s action of searching is representative of the human heart searching for God.

The finding of Jesus in the temple shows us that we, as temples of the Holy Spirit, are the Father’s house, if we do what He commands.

The highly symbolic number 3, as being the days of searching, symbolizes the Trinity, dwelling within us in Thought, Word, and Deed.

We, as Catholic men, are called to love through Deed.  In 1 John 3:17; we are told; let us love not in word or speech but in truth and deed.

St. Paul tells us that; "the God of Peace will soon crush satan under your feet."  He speaks of our feet. - Our feet as instruments of God to do His will, in this life.

Just as we pledge our allegiance to the flag of this country, - pledge your allegiance to God, to convert this country.

Just as Joseph protected and guided his family –

protect, and guide your family on a pathway to heaven.

Just as God formed the unborn in the womb –

defend them, as they are being torn limb by limb from their mother’s wombs.

And in serving God in these ways, we will truly make reparations to the Most Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,

Closing Prayers:

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, Who by the working of the Holy Spirit didst prepare both body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mother, Mary, that she might deserve to be made a worthy dwelling for Thy Son, grant that we who rejoice in her memory, may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from lasting death, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Rosary Prayer

(Verse) Let us pray,

(Response) O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Sing Salve Regina

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevae.
Ad te suspiramus gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.
