Intentions: Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Protection of the USA, Families, and the Unborn

Opening Prayers:

Apostles Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Three Hail Mary's

Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.

and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.

and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.

Amen.

Joyful Mysteries:

1st Mystery - the Annunciation Meditation:
"Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word". With those words—Mary’s fiat—the Virgin Mary placed her trust in God.  Mary was only 13 or 14; betrothed but not yet married, and God was asking her to become the Mother of His Son.  Let us not forget the consequences for any woman falling pregnant while unmarried in Her era.  The shame to Her family and, of course, Her stoning to death.   Mary would have been very aware of these facts, yet Her trust in God was total. Her humility is exemplary.  Mary did not see the whole picture, but she trusted in God that He did.  Let us pray that we may always give our Fiat when the Spirit prompts our conscience, particularly when the full picture is unclear and difficult.  PAUSE: One minute of silent mediations for personal intentions

2nd Mystery - the Visitation:
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, she exclaimed, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
At that very moment, Elizabeth recognized the living Christ in Mary.  We are called daily to recognize Christ in one another, particularly to live in such proximity to Christ that He is recognizable in us.

3rd Mystery - the Nativity:
“While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn”. The Innkeepers turned Jesus away - how often do we refuse Christ’s promptings to do what we know that we ought to do?  God will always answer our prayers, but often it is in unexpected ways, and we may receive a stable when we ask for a room.

4th Mystery - the Presentation:
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout […] It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah. He came into the temple; […] he took the Child Jesus into his arms and blessed God, saying: “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation.  He then prophesied to Mary: “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted – and you yourself a sword will pierce.” Simeon was content after one glimpse of Christ. The Eucharist gives us many glimpses.  Do we truly realize that It is Christ?  Do we treat It with the reverence that It deserves?  Our irreverence is the sword that pierces the heart of Mary.

5th Mystery - the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple:
Each year Jesus, Mary, and Joseph went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover.  When he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom, and as they returned, Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, unknown to Mary and Joseph.  When they did realize, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days, they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers.  When Mary saw him, She asked him, “Son, why have you done this to us? And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he meant.
Mary did not understand, yet she accepted with trust in God and humility in His presence.
Do we accept when we don’t understand, or do we demand to know all up front?
Jesus is always to be found in the temple -  In the Tabernacles of our Churches.
Jesus imparts wisdom to the rabbis in the temple.  He will give us all this wisdom if we spend time with Him in front of the Tabernacle.

Closing Prayers:

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, Who by the working of the Holy Spirit didst prepare both body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mother, Mary, that she might deserve to be made a worthy dwelling for Thy Son, grant that we who rejoice in her memory, may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from lasting death, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Rosary Prayer
